Jerry as Joe
In spite of many absences, the show goes on at the 2010
Convention as Jerry sits in for Joe Elinich at the helm of the defending
champion Glenshaw Gnomes. The games were close but all four went to Phil
Grabar's Highwood Grays as they swept the Gnomes to advance to the NLCS. |

Where's Chuck?
Mitch Caren prepares for the opening round playoff series
between his Hillsdale Barons and Chuck Bennett's Twin City Tigercats. Chuck
was not physically present at the Convention but did manage his team using
Mikogo, leading his team to a 4-1 series victory over the Barons. |

 |
Jerry as Tim (and Moe as Gordon)
Jerry evens his personal record for the evening as he
pilots Tim Weidman's Texas Tornadoes to a 4-game sweep over Gordon Stone's
Frostproof Heaters. Moe Gaudette sits in for the absent Gordon. |

And Appearing as Themselves...
Charlie McDonnell leads his wild card North Hampton
Shamrocks against Brian Hoyt's division-winning One Eleven A's. NH rolled
to a 3-0 lead in the series only to see OE come back with 3 straight wins
to tie the series. NH prevailed in the decisive 7th game to advance to the
ALCS. |

I Can't Lose if I'm the Only Guy Here
In an odd scene at the Convention, Phil Grabar seems to
play the NLCS by himself but Chuck Bennett is actually managing his Twin
City Tigercats remotely from his home in Minnesota via the Mikogo software.
In a very tight series, Highwood rallied from a 3-1 deficit to tie the
series but came up short in the 7th game as TC advanced to the World Series. |

One of these years, we'll win this game
Brian Hoyt and Phil Grabar play the 2009 All-Star Game.
The AL continued its winning streak with a 13-4 blowout. |

The Weather's Not So Bad After All
Although eastern Pennsylvania was hit with several feet
of snow in February, rising temperatures the week of the Convention causes
all but a little bit (see rear of photo) to melt. Saturday was a sunny day
in the 50's which allowed some outdoor time for the ABA managers. Steve
Malinowski and Mitch Caren watch from the sidelines as a few managers throw
around the baseball. |

 |
Throw Me The Ball
Phil Grabar and Jay Leininger don the baseball mitts and
toss the baseball with Brian Hoyt. |
 |
We All Fit Around the Table
With a light turnout this year, all Convention attendees
(except for Jerry) sat around the dining room table for the Free Agent
Draft. Around the table, it's Mitch (trying to decide who to pick next for
Don), Phil (struggling with the mouseless laptop), Brian (taking notes),
Jay (hogging the Baseball Prospectus book), Steve (using the Windows 7
laptop that can't play the game), Moe (crying because someone stole his
draft notes) and Charlie (fixing Phil's mitt). |

How It Would Have Looked
Commissioner Jerry Valenti presents the Championship
Trophy to Chuck Bennett whose Twin City Tigercats were victorious in the
World Series. The photo is actually from 2008 but the result is the same.
This time, TC won by sweeping the AL champion Texas Tornadoes. |

The Real Trophies
For the first time, neither World Series participant
was present at the Convention so the trophies will be on their way via
U.S. Mail to Chuck Bennett and Tim Weidman. Congratulations! |
